Our client is a $2.5 billion global manufacturing and distribution group. They are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team as the lead resource regarding IFRS, US GAAP, and technical accounting efforts. The ideal candidate will be skilled in reading technical literature, application to their business, and be able to teach it to others in the organization. To be successful in this position, a positive attitude, enthusiasm about learning, and taking on new and challenging assignments is a requirement. Additionally, good communication skills are imperative as the candidate will be communicating with various groups in the organization including other employees, managers and directors, both in the U.S and globally. Our client is moving from the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles to the International Financial Reporting Standards, so experience in this standard is highly desirable.

Job Description:
Ensure global compliance to US GAAP / IFRS Researching authoritative literature for proper treatment of accounting topics, complete whitepaper on the findings
Coordinate and complete worldwide compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements
Developing and maintaining account policies and procedures
Responsible for coordinating the process of gathering data from business units and global entities to facilitate financial statement preparation.
Ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required (i.e. impairment, warranty, defined benefit plans, etc)
Provide analysis and support for the company's external financial reporting process
Serve as a liaison to external auditors
Participate in a variety of financial analysis and special projects

Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
High level of analytical ability where problems are complex
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Strong self-starting initiative and innovative attitude
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent PC/computer skills
Knowledge and understanding of corporate/unit policies and procedures preferred
At least 5 years Big 4 Accounting or similar experience
Strong technical US GAAP accounting knowledge
Experience with IFRS preferred
CPA preferred
