Door installer carpenter needed
Skilled door installer/carpenter for established door company. Most of our work is installing fire rated doors, primarily in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens, with occasional visits to the Bronx and nearby parts of Long Island. We also install/repair commercial doors, build sheet rock enclosures for boiler rooms, install residential doors and commercial doors, etc. We also install sound proof and sound resistant doors and rebuild walls with sound proof sheet rock. Please do not respond to this ad if you don't have experience with NYC commercial doors.
You must have your own vehicle capable of transporting doors, proper tools, and great references. Our customers expect skilled workers who know the value of customer service.
You will be a sub-contractor. Some weeks, you will be busy, other weeks, not so much. If you are really good, I'll bid on jobs you are particularly skilled at (I get my work from Google and Yelp) so we can get extra work and bring in more business. Business is on the upswing and I should have at least 2-3 jobs a week, more when you show that you are the real deal. I will tell you what the job pays before you accept it; you always have the option of refusing a job that you feel isn't worth your time with no hard feelings. If you can upsell a job, you'll get a 10% sales commission. If the customer asks for more work, you have first dibs to return and at a 55% compensation. All my installers are sub contractors who are issued 1099's. You must have your own insurance and your own company name (we will not write checks to individuals.) If you don't have your own company, it costs about $50 to start one; just go to City Hall and get paperwork, pay a filing fee, open a business bank account, and you are a business. Insurance should be about $1600 a year and you can pay quarterly. My two best teams make about $500 a day, so it's a minor investment to make big money. You can also offer your services to other contractors.
