Proficiency in the use of English and Spanish, both oral and written is essential.
Experience utilizing Microsoft Office software including MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
Minimum 2 years of experience providing secretarial/administrative support to a senior/executive manager.
At least 2 years of experience working in an office environment and in providing administrative support to a diplomatic mission, governmental organization and/or multinational corporation.
Experience in providing client services and dealing with the general public.
Completed post-secondary education and/or an acceptable combination of education, training and work experience related to the duties and specific areas of competence required by the position.
Proficiency in French.
Experience in bookkeeping and/or accounts payable/receivables as well as customs clearances.
Experience in tracking budget expenditures and invoices, as wells as financial contracts.
Experience in event planning, initiating and maintaining active scheduling, organization and coordination of inventory control
Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of general office procedures related to administration.
Knowledge of petty cash, bookkeeping/accounting, administrative/clerical procedures.
Knowledge of the general operations of diplomatic missions and international organizations.
Ability to organize and prioritise workload, in an environment with multiple interruptions and to meet deadlines under pressure.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Ability to focus on accuracy and pay attention to detail.
Ability to follow-up on budget expenditures and to maintain well-organized electronic records and paper copy files.
Ability to conduct basic research and maintain database files.
Excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with clients, colleagues and supervisors
Initiative and dependability
Ability and willingness to work overtime, often on short notice. Required to travel within area occasionally.
Conditions of Employment
Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance and work legally in the Dominican Republic.
