BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:
The employee patrols residential zones and Mission facilities by vehicle and supervising the
Mobile Patrol Teams. Conducts security checks at each U.S. residence and facility and ensures
Mobil Patrol Teams are protecting personnel and property. Responds to emergency situations
affecting Mission personnel and property.

SALARY: Ordinarily Resident (OR): RD$359,677 p.a. (starting salary)
** (USEFM) Not-Ordinarily Resident (NOR): US$35,753 p.a. (starting salary)
** (MOH) Not-Ordinarily Resident (NOR): US$30,684 (starting salary)
**(This pay is only for Eligible Family Members (USEFM) and Member of
Household (MOH) who are eligible for employment under the American USG
pay plan)

The U.S. Embassy in Santo Domingo is seeking an individual for the position of Mobile Patrol
Supervisor in the Regional Security Office.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and
comprehensive information supporting each item.
1. Completion of secondary school is required.
2. Three years of security experience including one year of security driving and one year of
supervisory experience are required.
3. English level III (good working knowledge) (speaking/reading/writing); Spanish level IV
(fluent) (speaking/reading writing) are required.2
The Office of Human Resources will contact for testing purposes ONLY those
applicants that meet all other requirements.
4. Basic computer knowledge, basic understanding of security equipment and techniques,
familiarization with security driving techniques, area streets, local traffic patterns and U.S.
Mission residences and security zones are required.
5. Communication and writing skills are required.
6. Valid Dominican driver’s license category 2 is required.

ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA THAT MAY AFFECT THE FINAL HIRING DECISION
INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: NEPOTISM, BUDGET, CONTINUITY IN THE
POSITION, STAFFING GAPS, AND/OR THE NEED FOR THE APPLICANT TO HAVE A
SECURITY CLEARANCE.


SELECTION PROCESS
When fully qualified, U.S. Citizen Eligible Family Members (USEFMs) and U.S. Veterans are
given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate specifically address the required
qualifications above in the application.

ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA
1. Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in
determining successful candidacy.
2. Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
3. Current Ordinarily Resident employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs
Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not
eligible to apply.
4. Currently employed U.S. Citizen EFMs who hold a Family Member Appointment (FMA) are
ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
5. Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to
apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment unless
currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
6. The candidate must be able to obtain and hold an unclassified security clearance.
